    • Believing in Conceiving: The Four Spiritual Keys to Getting and Staying Pregnant by Jenilyn Gilbert, LCSW In this easy to read book women will learn the four essential spiritual keys that will greatly enhance ones fertility. Each chapter includes a meditation and a real-life client story.
    • The Impatient Woman’s Guide to Getting Pregnant by Jean M. Twenge, Ph.D. Practical advice with mostly natural techniques are described in this funny book. The author is a Professor of Psychology and shares research on questions you actually have about your fertility journey. (Although I disagree with her findings about acupuncture).
    • Inconceivable: A Woman’s Triumph over Despair and Statistics by Julia Indichova. A personal narrative of one woman’s experience of secondary infertility using mind-body lifestyle changes. This book includes a handful of other women’s stories of conception.
    • Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. This is an educational book about the Fertility Awareness Method as a means of natural pregnancy achievement.

    Adoption Books

    • Sound Choices, Strong Families by Patricia Johnston. This classic “how to” book helps couples and singles cross the bridge from infertility to adoption.
    • Born in Our Hearts: Stories of Adoption by Filis Casey and Marisa Catalina Casey. Compiled by a mother and child, this book shares personal adoption stories. Stories are shared from the perspective of the mother, father, siblings and grandparents.
    • Chicken Soup for the Adopted Soul: Stories Celebrating Forever Families (Chicken Soup for the Soul) by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Le Ann Theiman L.P.N Tales from International Adoption, Foster Care Children and those adopted from birth. Authors include adoptive parents, adoptive children and birth parents.
    • Instant Mom by Nia Vardalos. Funny and touching story of how Nia Vardalos (writer and star of My Big Fat Greek Wedding) adopts her 2.5 year old daughter from foster care. This is an excellent book on the transition from infertility to adoption.
